Yay!

We're going to Wisconsin in jsut a few more days!!!!

Hooray!!

Josh and I bought our tree! We've got it all decorated and it looks fabulous! I am so excited for Christmas, I know we won't be doing a whole lot (aside from a quick trip to Wisconsin) and we won't be spend a whole lot (because we already have), but I am still really excited.
My mom came out for Thanksgiving, she had a really good time, and apparently really loves Randy's (Petersen) stuffing! She said she was just craving it like crazy when she got back home! We went shopping Thanksgiving night with Leslie and Sheila at Micheals. We got some pretty good deals! Then we went shopping bright and early Friday morning. Oh how crazy it was! Mom and I went to the Wal-mart on 11400 South around 3:30 AM (sale started at 5:00), they let you go in the store, but everything that is on sale is on pallets covered in dark wrapping. Holy cow it was so insane! We got everything we wanted (and then some). We had planned to meet up with Sheila and Jill, but it was so crazy that we saw them for a few minutes and that's it. Luckily we were able to get to the front of the store really quick, so we checked out in now time. There wasn't anything else we wanted to get, so we went home planning on getting some sleep. Well, it worked out for mom, but Josh wasnted to go to RC Willey to get an iPod. Well, we got there around 6:30, doors opened at 8:00. There were supposedly 45 iPods per store, so Josh had to run. There were two doors to theis RC Willey, so there was a HUGE line at the one door, but apparently not many people knew about the other door, so we were right at the front of the line. Long story shorter, Josh ran in and we right near the front of the line, and he got an iPod :)
I want to say on a side note, that the families of the three that lost their lives Friday (at the Walmart in Long Island and the two in the So Cal Toys 'R' Us) are in our prayers. I can't beleive some people will take things to that extreme. This doesn't mean that the stores are even, but hopefully this will help in the future, so that people will be more aware of their actions on "Black Friday".

Friday was Josh's birthday, so we went out to dinner. Then Saturday we also went out to dinner and had a FABULOUS meal from the wonderful Tucano's. Yea :)

No more bed rest!

I have been on the couch all day and I am sick of it! Alright, it hasn't been all day. I went to "the store" to pick up Josh's birthday present this morning, but it hasn't arrived yet (thank you customer service girl who said it was ready). So when I went back out to the jeep, go figure, I locked the keys in. So I had to wait around for AAA to show up, only about 20 minutes, but still. Josh doesn't know what I got him yet, so I couldn't tell him where I was. So then I went home to take my meds, which of course put me to sleep for a few hours. Josh came home, but I was still pretty dead, so he went to do a side job, and I haven't seen him since. I'm assuming he doesn't have his phone because he isn't responding to texts/calls. I am going crazy! I need to get out!!

Relax

I love Sundays. It's the only day of the week that I know we won't be busy! I taught Sunday school today, it went well. Then Josh and I went home to relax. We did some laundry, watched some TV and that's about it! Oh, we also moved the bed so that we can put the recliner next to it, so I can still sleep next to Josh after my surgery. For those of you haven't heard, I am having a second surgery on my wrist. My hardware is causing complications and so they're taking it all out. Last time I had this surgery, I couldn't lay down in my bed for about two weeks, mainly because I have to keep it elevated and also because i move around too much in my sleep. Supposedly the recovery is a lot quicker and there shouldn't be too many complications so we're not too worried about it. Plus, I have a super awesome husband who will take care of me.

Other than that, things have slowed down at work for me, so most of my temps are gone. I am not working super crazy hours anymore, still about 50-60 hours a week, but not as bad as before. Josh has been working in the valley lately, so it's been pretty convenient for when he accidentally takes both sets of jeep keys in the morning...

So overall we're doing pretty well, living the dream :)

So sick of this...

Our Mazda was broken into again last night. That's right, this is the second time in the last two months, and the third time a vehicle of ours has been broken into in the last 7 months. Sick huh? They didn't break anything, they much have jimmied the lock. Surprisingly I'm pretty sure they didn't steal anything either, although, they sure did make a mess!! When I got out to my car this morning, I noticed that my backpack was open, and on the ground next to my car. I distinctly remembered getting out of the car the night before, and noticing that my backpack was inside the car, and even asked Josh if he had put it in there for me (he did, he's such a sweetheart). Anyhow, I also remember debating locking the car and thinking about unlocking it to grab my backpack but deciding against it. So I know it was locked!!! Ugh stupid people! All they have done was create hassle and feelings of insecurities for us!! What other point is there? Do they just really enjoy making messes?? Well, we've had it, so I took the car to Best Buy and had a new security system installed. So we'll see what happens. Maybe the little blue flashing light will be enough to scare the thieves off :) Jake from work had his car broken into last night too. Except, his window was broken :( Sorry Jake and Misty, but it does make me feel a little better knowing that I wasn't the only victim.

On a brighter note, things at work are slowing down, which is such a relief considering I'm starting to get a little frustrated with all the temps and chaos. Don't get me wrong, I love the extra money and some of the temps are awesome... but I'm ready for things to go back to normal.

Josh has been working Saturdays, and I think he's working tomorrow too. At least if he does work tomorrow, I can go with him. I am so lonely when he's gone. And we barely see each other as it is, so it'll be nice to be together, even if it's working.

A day of mourning

A sad day for the Petersens. Morty has passed on.

A moment to breathe

Halloween is over, thank goodness. I like the fun festivities, but I get a little sick of it pretty quick. Except now there is nothing but Christmas decorations everywhere you look. What happened to Thanksgiving?? It makes me sick. Today is Sean's birthday, we went to his party last night. Nothing better than hanging out with the old singles ward... jk it wasn't too bad. Sometimes it is awkward, but at least we weren't the only married couple there.

I worked 147 hours on my last check. I am so glad that our busy season is almost over. It hasn't been too bad, but I am ready for a break. I miss eating at home :(

Oh I made cookies yesterday! They are so good! I think I'll take some to work tomorrow...or eat them all myself!! Josh worked for Bud yesterday, so I had some free time.

I really don't think I have any more updates, we're just too busy to have anything happening.

Boo!

Oh man it's almost Halloween! Can you believe it?!

Josh and I were planning on going to Texas this last weekend, to reunite with some friends, get some good BBQ and do some real dancing. Unfortunately the flights were completely full (we were going to fly standby) and we couldn't go. So we were planning a nice "quiet" weekend (I was going to work Saturday). Well, plans changed again, and my mom came into town!! It was so nice to see her again, even if all we did was just bum around. We went to the mall and to Ikea, it was fun. Then around 8:00 pm Saturday night, she mentioned that we should have done some family pictures, since we haven't had one in years. So we started trying to think of inexpensive ways to do one, last minute. Finally we decided that we should go to a hotel and take one in front of a fireplace. Of course, we'd have to decide on a hotel. So about 9:00 pm, we were walking into Grand America in our sweats/pajamas, looking for a good photo location. We did decide to photograph there at the Grand America, so we called my brothers (they were at their dad's) and told them we'd pick them up in the morning and to dress a little nicer. Josh had a fun idea to do a "silly" picture, and wanted to add objects from the film "Clue". So, still in our fancy night time apparel, we headed to a couple different stores, in search of props. Around 10:30 at Walmart, we settled on silly masks. It was quite an interesting night, to say the least. The next morning our photos took place, and we got a bell hop to take them for us. They turned out pretty good. I still would like to do some real family photos, but this is more than sufficient for now!

So sleepy...

Josh left for his "man-cation" today. I miss him already. But I've been workng 15 hours per day, so I probably won't have too much trouble falling alseep. Night at the Roxbury is on tv right now. What a funny show. I have a cat sleeping on my lap. And I think I'm starting to nod off. Maybe I should update more later...

GO UTES!!

That game was awesome, and even though we couldn't go, we watched the last quarter on tv. I can't believe they pulled it off!!!

Josh's last softball game was tonight and they won! They beat the #1 team, and got second place. Hooray!

Sleep is over rated

Alright, obviously I can't sleep. Maybe if it wasn't so warm in this house... or maybe if I didn't take naps during the day... Anyhow, I have been in a slight panic mode, I've apparently lost my passport. I know I put it in a safe place... Maybe too safe. I don't know where I've hid the darn thing!!

This Friday one of my best friends is getting married, to another one of my very good friends. I am so happy for them! I know that they will be so blessed together! I just can't wait to see them get sealed in the temple, I just know how amazing it is and will be for them!

Next weekend Josh is going on a "man-cation" with his boys. I can't remember who's all going, but a group of his old roomies and guy friends are leaving the girls at home and enjoying Lake Havasu for a few days. I'm really excited for him, but super nervous because this will be THREE nights away from my hubby! Oh the pain! I'm sure I'll be ok, it's just very scary.

I'm trying to plan a surprise getaway for just Josh and I to celebrate our 6 months, but he's not making it very easy on me. He's already taking a day off of work to go to this man-cation, so I'm afraid to see about another day off. I also will have some troubles taking the time off, so I'm really praying that we'll be able to get some free time. Shh, don't tell Josh!

Saturday!!

I love the weekend! It's such a great time to relax, catch up on cleaning, shows and time with family! I just don't see how we're supposed to fit all of that into two days!!

Josh got the jeep towed to the mechanic Thursday. He said it'll probably be about a week before we get it back. Justin is letting us borrow his truck in the meantime. I don't know what we'd do without the help from our families!

I've been looking at houses all week, trying to find some good ones. I keep hoping we'll find one that's in foreclosure for $20... I just don't think it'll happen.

I'm getting over the baby crazy phase, I realized that we are far too busy to have a child. We don't get very much time to ourselves, so bringing a baby in the picture probably isn't a bright idea, besides, I really would like to have a house before that step is taken.

I have to teach tomorrow morning in church, I honestly haven't even looked at the lesson yet, but for some reason I'd rather update the blog. Silly me.

We went to Chili's for dinner last night (Thanks Joe and Britt!). It was nice to go to a restaurant and have a meal that is more than just pizza... Oh kidding, I cook all the time. Except during the week we usually just make something quick because Josh is at school, scouts or softball.

Last Sunday we found out that Josh's scouts only have to meet twice per month. Now we have a whole two days more per month, just to be home!! Yay!

Well, that's most of our updates, if I think of more, we'll put them up!

Good news, bad news

So, Friday night was Josh's first camp out with the scouts. It was also our first night apart since getting married. I was completely scared, mainly because I'm a big baby when it comes to that stuff. Well, he left for the camp out two hours before I would get off work. Of course the one night we couldn't go do something, I got off an hour early. As I was driving home, Josh called me and apparently they still hadn't left. He needed a lantern, which just happened to be in the car, so I'd be able to see him before he left! Yay! So I settled in at home, caught up on some shows (lazy, I know). About 8:00, Josh called me from the base of Big Cottonwood Canyon. A piece that we just recently fixed on the jeep, had broken again, and he was overheating. So I picked up the piece and some more antifreeze and met him at the canyon. I drove back home, and settled into my previous mode, quite ready to fall asleep. Fortunately, I didn't. Josh called about an hour later, same issue. So I went back out there, ready to bring Josh home. Another scout leader picked up the boys and took them up to camp. I was so excited that I wouldn't have to sleep alone! I felt bad that Josh didn't get to go camp and that his jeep was broken, but I was too happy to feel too bad.
Saturday morning Josh and I went to tow the jeep back to our house and he began tearing it apart. A few hours later he came to the conclusion that he'll have to take it to the mechanic. We now have a torn apart jeep in our garage until we can tow it to a mechanic.
What an adventure, life stays interesting!

Busy Busy!!

Well, it's 11:05, I really ought to be in bed. I want to be, but I'm addicted to Heroes, which is what we're watching. Oh how fun. I've had a lot on my mind lately. For some reason I've gotten pretty baby crazy (shh, don't tell Leslie :P). Josh keeps telling me no, but I just can't stop thinking about it. Well, I guess we really should work on getting a house first.

Anyways, enough about that. I'm pretty sure our landlord is a little crazy. He really likes all of the improvements in the apartment. He liked it so much he hugged me. It was pretty funny. What a goon. I will admit we have done some pretty great things to our place. We redid the kitchen floor and now we have beautiful pergo laminate. We put shelves up in the garage for more storage, new contact paper in the cupboards, new lighting throughout the place. It is pretty decent now (fairly ghetto before, but not trashy) maybe we can survive another 6 months here, we'll see.

We have officially hit the busy season at work. It's pretty tough to work so many hours and know that Josh is at home and missing me. It drives me crazy that we can't be together, I know it'll all be worth it soon. Or maybe we should just quit our jobs in live deep in the mountains some where. Ha, yeah right.

Well, fun times, I best be going, episodes over and we're hopefully going to bed, I hope I get enough sleep to not be completely useless tomorrow!

When you have done something good, you will earn 1 Shrute Buck.

Sitting at home is a luxury now a days. I wish we had a chance to just sit and relax, be lazy. So far we've stayed super busy and I'm ready for a break.

Our lease is up on the 1st of October, so we we're looking to find a bigger place. Unfortunately we we're banking on getting a townhouse from one of Randy's coworkers. Bad idea (no offense Randy, we appreciate your help!). He decided at the last minute to sell it, leaving us with no time to look for other options. Now at this point, we're looking to try to buy something. The market is so good right now and with all the benefits of home ownership, it probably isn't smart to miss this ship.

Anywho, we're about to the busiest season at my job, so I'll be little distant (and even more busy) until...Christmas. Josh is in school super late Mondays and Wednesdays, and has scouts Tuesdays and softball Thursdays. Pretty much it'll be interesting if we ever get a chance to see each other.

Well, it's been a real fun time being married, I really can't imagine what I would do without Josh! I really am so blessed to have such a great family!

Time marches on

It's almost September?! How on earth did that happen?

Josh and I are doing fabulous, we have two kittens, so our family has grown! But that's as much as it will grow for a while. We're getting ready to (hopefully) move to West Jordan. We'll have to have a housewarming party or something once we get settled. Josh started school last week, and I start tomorrow. We both have so many other responsibilities, we're both taking two classes. Next semester we're planning on taking a full schedule on.

Well, that is about it as far as updates. I'll see what I can do as far as updating some pictures.

Upcoming...

We'll be heading out to Wisconsin in June, for a small luncheon to celebrate our new marriage with our family and friends in that area. We'd love to see you there if you're able to make it. If you need directions just send me an email or give me a call!

Hey everyone!

Well here we are, married 3 weeks, and I'm setting up a website!

We'd like to thank everyone who attended our wedding, we had a blast! It was so great to see everyone and to show off our new love! For everyone who missed it, we still love you and I'm sure you can make it up to us :P

I set up this website so that we can update everyone on what's going on in our world, since we aren't the best at keeping in touch, especially since our families are all over the world!
It seems that since we've been married we've been busier than ever trying to get settled. It's been a lot of fun so far, and we're really looking forward to all the wonderful events in our future!

From the Begininng

The first time Josh and Brittany met, was the Summer of 2006. A group of friends were going to the drive in on Redwood Road in Taylorsville. Brittany's friend Rochelle invited an ex boyfriend of hers, named Josh Petersen. The group decided to meet at Randy Grant's house and drive up all together. Since Rochelle and Josh didn't know exactly where to go, Brittany met up with them at the Dollar Store in South Jordan, that way they could pick up treats too. Brittany thought Josh was cute, but didn't say anything because she knew it was Rochelle's date, and Brittany was dating someone else anyway. Upon arrival at the theater, everyone started setting up their vehicles for the show. Love Sac's in the back of pickups, camp chairs, and blankets. Brittany went over to see Rochelle. Josh had set up an air mattress in the back of his red Chevy truck, with two DeWalt radios in the corners. It was a nice set up! They chatted briefly, but there was a lot of other commotion. Josh chatted with Quinn Kotter, which is about all Josh remembers about that night! It's ok, because they were both there with others.

Fast forward a little more than a year later... (October 2007) Brittany's friends Rochelle and Suzy had both left on Missions, leaving Brittany and Angela to become good friends. Halloween was fast approaching and so they'd decided to go to an LDS sorority/fraternity party at the SkyBox downtown. While there, they ran into several friends they knew from various places. Aaron Metcalf (later to marry Angela) and Josh Petersen. Angela and Josh went to high school at Kearns together, so they stopped to say "hi" to each other. When Angela introduced Josh and Brittany, she mentioned he'd dated Rochelle, at this point Brittany recognized him by his cuteness and braces. Brittany had a crush, after chatting for a bit, Angela and Brittany had invited Josh dancing the following night, and gotten his phone number.

The next night, Josh actually went dancing with these crazy girls. Brittany tried to follow Josh from a careful distance, so she wouldn't scare him off, but as it turns out, Josh was following her like a puppy. Brittany loved his carefree attitude and the strong arms she felt when she got a chance.

The following Sunday, Brittany was at a game night with her friends from the single's ward, as they did every Sunday. She couldn't stop thinking about the cute boy she'd met. She decided to text him and invite him to the game night. He came! Only for a bit, but Brittany was able to see this cute boy interact with her other friends and see him again. After a few approvals from her friends, she admitted she was pretty into him.

The following Tuesday (November 6), Brittany got a silly horoscope saying "someone important is coming into your life, embrace it". She thought it was funny and decided to act on it. This led to a series of text messages between the two. Later that afternoon Josh called Brittany and invited her on a date that night. It was so impromptu, but she was so excited. That night, on their first official date, the went rock climbing at Momentum, got ice cream at Maggie Moo's, and went for a chilly walk around the area.

Things went well enough that when she invited Josh to do a double date with Angela and Tyler, he accepted. They went to Angela's house for a movie and caramel apples. They all had so much fun, and when he dropped Brittany off, he almost kissed her, but withheld.

The following Saturday (November 10), Josh asked Brittany out to another date. They ate pizza at The Pie. While there, they had a discussion about the 10 Commandments, for some reason, they disagreed about the order and couldn't figure out why. It was interesting. After dinner they went to Copperton to walk around the park, since Brittany hadn't been there before. It was dark, so they were startled by deer a few times. After walking around the old football field, Josh leaned in and got his first kiss. It was amazing.

The next morning, about to teach her Sunday School lesson, Josh walked in and surprised her! The lesson went well and they chatted for a few minutes afterward before leaving to go to his parents. Brittany was absolutely smitten and knew this was the beginning of something great. From that moment, almost every night was spent together and time passed quickly.

Brittany met Josh's family on Thanksgiving. And Josh met her mom, brothers, and grandpa Bob just after Christmas when he flew to Colorado with her to meet them.

January 17, 2008, Josh officially proposed and they were engaged. The wedding was April 10, 2008. The ceremony was at the Bountiful Temple followed by a reception at The Gathering Place in Gardner Village. It was a short courtship and a short engagement, but they knew they were meant to be together.
