Fun Stuff!

Once again, we’ve been super busy, sorry about the lack of blog updates. Let’s see, where to start…

How ‘bout them Utes, eh? We’ve been having so much fun this season and still love having season tickets. I can already see that we’ve started a fun family tradition. We love being with our friends and screaming until we can’t scream anymore. Now that there are some away games coming up, we’re looking forward to hosting some game parties at our house. Yay!

Josh and I (mostly Josh) finally got the initiative to renovate the downstairs bedroom. When we bought our house, the room was nothing but shelving. It would have been a great space for a family that needed lots of room for storage - but for us, there’s plenty of room in our garage or two panties in the kitchen. We tore down the shelving, Josh and Ryan filled and sanded the holes in the walls, painted, carpeted and made the room pretty again. It’s so great to have another bedroom! Ryan moved down there last weekend, so now I have two spare bedrooms upstairs.

We rearranged our family room downstairs, partially to make room for our new addition…. Our awesome friends Jim & Emily Pehrson (Matt, Marne, and Jared’s Parents) gave us their fish tank and stand. Josh and I had been wanting a fish tank for a while, but they’ve always been just another unnecessary expense. Well, the price was right, so we picked it up! Jim built the stand himself and it’s really neat. There are lights behind the glass and it’s really just beautiful. But we did figure that since it was already disassembled, it would be a good opportunity to make any changes now. We sanded down the wood, and stained it. So far it looks gorgeous. We’re really excited to see the final results!

Josh cleaned out the garage and made it a functioning workshop area (for him). He even bought some wheels and built a cart that he can store and move around when needed. He’s so handy! It’s truly a blessing that I found him. I like that he knows how to take care of things himself.

I do believe that’s it for me… I’m sure there’s more happenings in our lives, but I think you’ve endured enough reading….oh by the way, 15.5 days until we go to Florida!!

36 Days

Not that we’re counting… in 36 days we’re leaving all our cares and troubles behind. We’re heading to FLORIDA for a short but fabulous vacation! This is the beach we’ll be staying at :

Redington Beach

And this is the view from our balcony:

I am so excited to take romantic walks on the beach, drink coke on the beach in the sun, play in the ocean, snorkel and look for pretty fish, and go to DISNEY, BUSCH GARDENS, and other fun parks!! Maybe we’ll swim with some dolphins or find a buried treasure! I’m so excited!!

Home Sweet Home

We did it! One month ago yesterday, we officially closed on our first house. One month ago today, we were handed the keys and started moving. Sometimes it feels like it was just yesterday…but we’ve done so much work, sometimes it feels like years! For the most part we’re caught up on the work we want to do, and will pace ourselves with the next few projects.

Our housewarming party was so much fun! We loved having friends and family visit us and share in our joy. I’m so excited for the years to come, when we can host game nights, bonfires, and other fun events!

As promised, I finally have some good photos to share!

Here is what the house looks like, with the door and shutters all painted. Next year we're hoping to redo the siding... we'll see :)

I'm sure you're all curious about where the magic happens! Haha, this is our bedroom. It's certainly no master suite, but we love it!

We have our new curtains up in the dining and kitchen. Also, there's usually not that much on the counters, but we were prepping for the party.

Also, our living room upstairs is furnished and set up! Yay!
