Time sure flies!

Not sure how it's happened, but we're already at 6 weeks with our little man! He's still the best little guy I could've ever asked for. I still can't believe the love I have for him and my little family. I never want to leave him! Occasionally Josh will watch him and I'll run to the grocery store and I just go a little crazy leaving him.

We had a few pictures done, here are some of our favorites!

Sawyer has taken over!

Our precious little Sawyer has arrived! (Side note, I started this post more than a week ago, but am just finally finishing and posting it!)

We went in for an induction on September 10, and he was born that night at 9:45 pm. He came in at 18.5 inches and 7 lbs 9 oz. He was born without any complications and absolutely perfect. I was in such shock that I was able to survive the labor process, it was not nearly as bad as I anticipated. In all honesty, I was so scared that I didn't know how people had more than one child, but now I totally get it! It is so amazing and when they placed his squirmy little body on mine, I was just overwhelmed with love and joy. What a miracle!

Anyhow, we've been having lots of fun, I get to stay home with Sawyer for 12 weeks (not long enough). It's certainly an adjustment, but we're getting there! I try to get in naps when he naps, especially since he doesn't seem to understand that 4 AM isn't when we like to be awake. He does have more and more periods of awake-ness. He's starting to make noises more and more, grunting a lot, and just still so freaking cute!!! I have to admit, I love when he falls asleep in my arms or after burping him, up against my chest, or even just next to me. I could stare at him all day!

At his 2 week appointment he has measured in at 8 lbs 10 oz and 21.5 inches. He's growing super fast! He's so wonderful and fun! Here are some photos!!

He'll be here soon!!

I am now 9 days away from my due date. That's right, NINE DAYS. Where has the time gone? It seems to drag on forever when I try to go to sleep, but other than that, it's been passing so quickly. I can not believe that any day now I will have an actual human that I will be responsible for!! The next time I post anything will most likely be baby photos and details, so I'll leave you with a few maternity photos!!

The Nursery!

Less than 4 weeks till the due date. And not only that we're thinking he might be coming a little earlier than the full 40 weeks. Here's what we've created! I'm sure we'll have a few more things to add in sooner or later. And once I decide on a pattern, there will be a background on the bookshelf. As of right now, this is Sawyer's room sweet room!

So close....but yet so far...

If you can believe it, I'm only 31 days away from my due date. I can't believe it. In some ways I feel like it was just yesterday, looking at the pregnancy test thinking I was seeing things, but in some ways I feel as if I've been pregnant forever! Usually the latter feeling comings when I'm trying to sleep and I just can't get comfortable! I just had my second baby shower, thrown by Leslie, my MIL, for Josh's side of the family. It was fantastic. I am so grateful to have such a loving, supportive family. Of course, I also loved all the great gifts! It was a darling shower and I wish I had pictures, so if anyone out there took photos, please forward them to me too!

I took the time to work on Sawyer's nursery this weekend. It hadn't really gotten much further than the paint and furniture assembly. I put things on the walls, washed and organized all his clothes for up to 9 months, washed all the blankets, and decided (mostly) on a way to organize all the random "stuff" that I have out. Oh, and I set up the TV in there :P

Here is another teaser picture of the areas that are mostly done! I am planning to put a background into the bookshelf (maybe something like wood panel looking), and possibly painting it. I haven't decided on the painting. Josh thinks the black color just looks too weird, but I know I can't match the brown of the dresser/crib. What do you think I should do??

8.5 to go!

Wow. What a roller coaster! I have been having SO much fun with my pregnancy! (is there a sarcasm font yet?) For the most part, its been pretty great. I love being pregnant, I love having this little guy kicking around and abusing my internal organs (for the most part so far). I haven't had any morning sickness, which means I haven't thrown up. I have, however, had migraines that make me cry, leg cramps that make me want to tear off my legs, and swelling that makes me panic. I know it's normal, but swelling freaks me out! Luckily the swelling has been minimal compared to some people and seems to mostly be related to the humidity and traveling I was recently exposed to. I also really dislike heartburn and feeling like I can't breathe. The fun thing is thinking about the fact that he's still growing!! In any case, overall I love it. I am so excited to meet my little Sawyer.

Over the past weekend I went to Wisconsin for a baby shower with friends and family. Josh stayed home and so it was just the girls! It was so nice to see everyone and to share in the excitement. I got lots of nice things and some gift cards to boot. Our friend Sandy made a fabulous Baby Melon Salad and grandma ordered a super yummy carrot cake!

After the shower mom, grandma, and I went to Elevatorfest (an annual picnic from the West Bend Elevator). It was fantastic, there was lots of food and drinks, with lots of people! We had to wear name tags, and so I made sure Sawyer got one too.

On the way home Sunday, mom and I were waiting for flights in the Chicago Airport, when who should walk by.....John C Reilly! I asked for a picture, but he politely declined because he was with his kids. He did, however, ask my name, shake my hand, and wish me luck with my pregnancy! I did get some paparazzi shots though :)
