Updates!

We have a house! I still can’t believe it! With all the drama, processing, time, money, effort, and pain put into the process, I don’t know what to do now that it’s over. I still feels so surreal. In any case, I am so happy the process is over, that we’re moved and I don’t have to worry about it for a long while!

It’s not even been a week, and we’re nowhere near being officially unpacked, but it’s already starting to look and feel like home. We had a lot of help from some great friends when we moved on Saturday, and we made good time. I am so grateful for such wonderful friends that are willing to give of their time and energy to help us.

My mom came into town on Saturday night and has helped us significantly. I am so happy that she’s willing to come spend time with us, when her schedule is so busy to begin with.

Our kitchen is almost completely unpacked, and there’s still lots more room for more storage! I’m so happy to have a big kitchen! Our bedroom is put together, which helps when I’m ready to be done for the day. Josh has been working hard fixing mechanical problems. There was a leak in the pilot hose to the water heater, but turns out it was a loose end and Josh fixed it right up! The disposal was clogged, but he fixed that! The sprinklers have had a few problems, but he’s almost fixed those! (Our grass is finally starting to be green again!) He’s done so much to put everything together and I’m so happy to have him.

Overall, we’re still getting used to being homeowners, and we’re so happy we endured through to get there! We’re looking forward to a housewarming party (bonfire & BBQ), tentatively planned for Aug 7. We’ll let you all know for sure!

So happy for you guys - now you join the ranks of being "house poor", meaning all of your time and money seem to be put into your newly acquired house - making it a home!
